holy fruit

Holy fruit, Batman! Kapow!
{sorry, couldn't resist}

This week's study is a well-worn path and it would be tempting to skim over it.  Fruits of the spirit, yada, yada, yada. Know it, read it, prayed it, don't need to see it again.  However, stop right there.  This is an incredibly comprehensive, personal study.  If you never look at this passage again {well, at least for the next year} just take the time to really immerse yourself in the blessings of each "fruit".

If ever there was a time to excuse yourself from the daily grind, leave the laundry where it is for a wee while and just sit and immerse yourself in the word....this is the study.   I'm not going to go on much more because I'd rather you just look up page 90 , make  yourself a cuppa and let the Holy Spirit into your heart.

Key concept:

"Unbelievers need to see the visible difference God makes in our lives. The proof of God’s transforming power is in how we act. A life lived entirely for God is the most powerful testimony." page 90

Key Scripture:

Matthew 7:17-20

17 Likewise, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. 18 A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. 19 Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. 20 Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.

Galatians 5:22-25

22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, 23 gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. 24 Those who belong to Christ Jesus have crucified the flesh with its passions and desires. 25 Since we live by the Spirit, let us keep in step with the Spirit.
